My new series

Sorry I’ve been away for a while but I’ve been deep into my muse. Family Legacy is up to chapter 11 and going strong. I thought I would share my idea on this YA series. As I said before my critiquing partner loves the idea so I hope you do too.

Jess and Wilhelmina (Wil for short) Grim find a strange wood box in their attic and it contains unusual items. Wil reads a poem aloud, which is a spell that opens sensing powers in the sisters. Later they find out that they are descendants of the fiction writer the Brothers Grimm. And now they must find the evil witch that is killing off their friends.

I would love to hear what you think about the idea. This is my third series idea but the second series that is flowing so nicely, I will update my WIP bar so you can see my progress.

Update!

I’ve been working hard on my YA novel. Still no hints yet, but soon. I have been cranking out a chapter a day. Every four days I have to input it into the computer. Starting Monday I will be on chapter eight. I haven’t heard from my critiquing partner yet but I can’t wait to see what she says. She always has such great suggestions and advice about what I’m writing.

I started reading some R. L. Stein YA series called Fear Street Nights. A great read so if you’re out pick them up. I’m also going to be picking up High School Bites By: Liza Conrad (aka: Erica Orloff). I’m sure that it’s going to be a great read as well.

I would like to mention Fran Friel: Yada Feast, which her link is to the right. She has some great post please check out her blog. Another thing that I would love to mention is Naomi Clark’s Blog: Lunatic Horizons, which her link is to the right also. She’s done a lot of work on it so check it out.

I just heard from my critique partner and she loves my idea. Yay!!!!

The novel that wouldn't wait!!!!!

A couple of days ago I started a YA novel. No details yet but I am already heading into the third chapter. I can’t wait to send it to my critiquing partner for her assessment and thoughts. What’s funny is that this novel would not wait to be written. I had to put ‘The Trial’ aside because this novel was pouring to the surface.

It rather reminded me of my Logan Wolf series. This novel is basically writing itself and already a little different then I thought it was going to be. Maybe this is the series that I was supposed to be writing all along. Young adult isn’t a genera that I saw myself writing ever, sure I have thought about it for a while like I said before but nothing was ‘IT’. You know the type of book that just flows out like water out of a faucet.

Well I will keep you posted but I see the novel being done in a couple of weeks. Especially if it keeps coming like it has.

What Sells?

Okay so I’m still waiting to hear from an agent and I wondered ‘what sells’. Am I just trying to sell the wrong product at the wrong time? If enough time passes, doubt will root its way in and wreak havoc on your whole being. I have been toying with the idea for six months to write the perfect horror/fantasy YA series but it had to be just right. After several ideas that I thought was interesting but they kind of just lay there doing nothing.

But, today an idea started to form and characters started to take shape. I won’t give any hints until the novel is done but I think that it’s pretty damn good. After a few chapters, I will email it to my fantastic critiquing partner for her thoughts. I have to say that my husband helped me form this idea. He is an avid reader, which is an understatement and he’s great to bounce ideas off of.

I’ve been working on my Archangel series and it’s going slow but steady. I’m waiting to hear from a few ezines on a couple of short stories. So I’ll let you know when I know something.
